The TRC stocks update for this month was released today. I thought of sharing this update for everyone because for us newbies, it is important to understand what will the market look like this year. No one really knows what to expect in the coming months ahead.

But with this highlights, we can have a clearer picture of what to expect in the future.

Expectations In The Markets This 2016

• Weak PSEi performance for the 1st half of this year due to disappointing earnings from PSE listed companies, continuing weakness of China’s economy and U.S. Fed’s divergent monetary policy.
• China’s slowdown causing lower commodity prices and the strengthening of the U.S. dollar due to the Fed’s divergent monetary policy will cause developing economies that rely on commodities to suffer.
• Weakening of OFW remittances in the Middle East due to the current oil crisis.
• Weakening of the Philippine Peso due to the drop in our balance of payment surplus, depreciation of the Chinese Yuan and rising interest rates.

In spite of all this, the Philippines will still be able to withstand the challenges because;

• Our BPO industry is strong,
• Weaker peso giving an advantage on consumer spending,
• Our country’s demographic advantage and
• PSE listed companies are fundamentally strong.

What To Do Now?

Because of the ongoing market sell-off’s, Truly Rich Club recommends to;

• Take advantage of the stock’s attractive prices today.
• Implement peso cost averaging strategy.
• Invest in mutual funds or choose to combine investing in a few stocks and a mutual fund to diversify and minimize volatility.

As for me, I’ll just continue to buy shares to further lower my stock’s average price. Also, I’ll be on the lookout on the prices of some of the fundamentally sound companies that aren’t listed in the SAM table.

If they passed my own metrics, I would add them in my watch list, monitor their movement and buy them when extra funds becomes available.
