[WATCH] Mr. Edward Lee On COL’s 2016 Mid-Year Market Briefing

Mr. Edward Lee, one of Truly Rich Club’s Success Mentors and the founder of COL Financial, has once again shared his valuable insights in the stock market during COL’s 2016 Mid-Year Market Briefing Seminar last Sept. 3, 2016 on SMX Aura Premiere.

Below are the highlights of his talk in this 17-minute video.

Highlights:

  1. We are in a bull market because Philippines is a growing economy.
  2. Volatility is the new normal.
  3. When you make money on stocks, you eventually start believing in yourself that you’re good. And since you think that investing is so much easy, you’ll start venturing into Active Investing.
  4. When you’ve become an active investor, you’ll start to speculate. When speculation becomes a habit, it now becomes gambling.
  5. Research a company’s fundamentals to find the intrinsic value, apply technical analysis to determine the right entry and learn the macro economic fundamentals that affects the Philippine economy (population, demographics).
  6. Risk management is the most important thing in investing. Maximum exposure to equities should be 20% especially to older people because of volatility. Volatility can reach up to 50% even if there’s no problem with the economy.
  7. Investing strategies;
    • Buy and Hold Strategy. 20% Equities then 80% on fixed income securities.
    • Position Trading. Buy on buy below prices and sell when you hit the target price.
    • Swing Trading. Up to 40% return.
    • Momentum Trading. Up to 60% return.
    • Scalping. Up to 70% return.
  8. Money is easily earned but it’s also easily burned when you gamble in the stock market.
  9. 85% of the people who do short-term trading but don’t understand what they’re doing lose money.
  10. If you made a lot of money in stocks and your mindset is that you want to make more without understanding the core reasons of why you’re doing this, then you’ll lose money.
  11. Only invest 5% of your money if you want to speculate in the stock market.
  12. Warren Buffett is the greatest investor. Jesse Livermore is the greatest speculator.
  13. Treat the stock market as a business. Don’t speculate too much.

Happy watching!
