Do you know that we can classify people into 2 distinct groups;
The first group are the reward-driven people.
The second group are the result-driven people.
Let’s discuss about these two groups in detail.
When we say reward-driven, we can say that these are the type of people who only move their asses when they are promised of a reward. It may be in a form of a paycheck, bonuses or commissions. These people give their valuable time in exchange for money. When they stop working, they stop their income. They spend their time doing what they do into something that doesn’t give them income long after they stopped working. There’s nothing wrong with this kind of thinking. The only problem is that by consistently doing this kind of short term action, it will only produce limited results. Well look around you, have you seen someone who got rich by answering telephone calls all day? Think of this for one bit, isn’t it true that you only do minimum efforts everyday just to keep your job? And while you think you’re being smart, your boss is much smarter because he is just paying you the minimum salary just to keep you from leaving!
Now consider this, a higher paycheck doesn’t always mean a better financial status. Contrary to what other may think, when our salary increases, our taxes, commitments, time and lifestyle go up as well. It’s our emotions that gives us the feeling of a sense of security whenever we are offered a higher salary, more benefits and longer vacations. It is by then that we allow money to run our lives.
Now how about the result-driven group?
A result-driven individual is someone who has a creative mindset that produces good ideas and turns it into a profit.
Result-driven individuals are mostly entrepreneurs, business leaders, inventors and many other creative people that ‘doesn’t work for money.’
When I say ‘doesn’t work for money’, what I mean is not working for free. They do a lot of work but in turn, they develop a certain skill that’s necessary to be successful on what they are pursuing.
An engineer with a result-driven mindset will get a job at a factory or a construction site and learn all the ins and outs of the tricks of the trade. Similarly, a person who wants to learn how to sell will go get a sales job. The lesson here is that the best education that you can get is not found on seminar and lecture halls, but in real life.
To become a result-driven individual takes perseverance, a brilliant mindset and a good understanding of your financial capabilities. If you think you’re a reward-driven person, now is the time to learn how to be a result-driven individual. Know the ins and outs of the job you’re in right now so that by the time you decide to be an entrepreneur, you’ll have all the knowledge you have to start your own business. The good thing is that you even get paid while you learn!
To summarize, tell yourself what kind of a person are you?
Are you a person who would give time and energy to work long hours in exchange for money? Or would you rather use your time and energy to develop a knowledge in building a long term asset that will generate you income even after you stopped working?
The decision is yours. You just have to unleash that creative thinker within you. Develop an idea, use resources that are around you and create something with true value that others are willing to pay for.
To your success!
